ACP Executive Director to Testify in Support of SAFE Act

ACP EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO TESTIFY IN SUPPORT OF SECURITY AND FREEDOM THROUGH ENCRYPTION (SAFE) ACT

WHAT:Legislative hearing on H.R. 850, the Security And Freedom Through Encryption (SAFE) Act, before the House Subcommittee on Courts and Intellectual Property. Championed by Reps. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), the SAFE Act was introduced on February 25, 1999 with 205 bipartisan original co-sponsors and seeks to protect Americans¹ right to use the strongest possible encryption, while lifting export restrictions on U.S.-made encryption.
